Clark Baker is a licensed private investigator and retired member of the Los Angeles Police Department (1980-2000). Mr. Baker served in Asia, the Far East, and Central America as a US Marine (1975-1979). He is also a licensed commercial helicopter pilot and scuba divemaster.
During his nearly 30-year career, Mr. Baker has conducted thousands of criminal and civil investigations, has testified as an expert in countless court trials, and has received more than 80 commendations from local, state, and federal officials regarding his investigative expertise and law enforcement innovations.
After publicly identifying political improprieties in 1991, Mr. Baker became the subject of retaliation and was criminally charged, convicted, sentenced, and fired from the LAPD. He returned in 1994 after the judge, prosecutor, and LAPD were found guilty of misconduct and subsequently earned additional awards for service to the LAPD and Los Angeles community. Since his retirement in 2000, Mr. Baker has served clients throughout North America and Europe and the Los Angeles Superior Court as a panel investigator.
Mr. Baker was appointed to the SSI Board in July 2008 after presenting his report on HIV/AIDS history and policy. In addition to his service as SSI Secretary and Treasurer, Mr. Baker serves as webmaster, managing information and resources for SSI’s membership. Mr. Baker is routinely called upon by targeted physicians of sham peer review throughout the United States.
Mr. Baker lives in Los Angeles and is the proud father of a US Marine, public schoolteacher, and three grandchildren.
